Cancelled Concerts

Discuss anything My Dying Bride-related

Postby Lycaon » Wed Oct 18, 2017 8:14 pm

My Dying Bride has recently cancelled three shows, in Sheffield, Madrid and Aalborg. I have no clue what has happened, but I assume their reason is legit.

Whatever is wrong, we wish you all the best!

I also wish all the best even thou I'm devastated that I won't see them in Madrid. Have already bought flights, hotels and of course tickets to Madrid Is The Dark-fest. Even if the line-up on MITD-fest is great (Evoken, Ahab, Novembers Doom, Green Carnation, Liv Kristine etc), MDB was the main reason for me to travel all the way from Finland to Madrid...

I really hope everything is well in MDB camp. :(

Shit :(

"Due to unforeseen personal circumstances, My Dying Bride have regretfully had to cancel their appearance at Madrid is the Dark Festival in Spain and the Aalborg Metal Festival in Denmark.
The band again request privacy at this time and apologise to their fans."

I hope its nothing too bad but it doesnt sound good.
All luck to MDB in these times....

This sounds very serious. Best wishes to the band.

I saw the statements too. I really hope everything's okay with the band (though clearly it's not!). I assume it's something personal, but I'll respect the bands request for privacy and not speculate.

Like the rest of you, I simply wish the band (and their families) the best. And hope this marks the end of the bad news!

Ditto, not the best news to read. Just know that I - and I think most people here - support the band, no matter what these difficulties may be.

Eindhoven has been cancelled also.

I do not know what is the matter, but i sincerely hope that things will work out for the band and the crew.
Please be safe MDB, you are so special.  :(

Once again the bearer of bad news.

My Dying Bride have had to cancel their appearance at the Eindhoven Metal Meeting 2017.

We will try get an official statement to the bands health and status as soon as we can.

It seems to be something for the long run which for me enhances the feeling that something very serious has befallen the band... Best of luck guys!

Gaaaahh. It's hard not knowing what's going on (this is the band of my heart after all), and it feels so selfish to be worried in a way, but I am.. I hope they pull through and come out stronger.

I don't want to speculate, though..

... But I can run another MDB playlist. I like to make playlists of 8-10 songs and listen to them in a new order. Today's list is gonna be this:

Intro: "It Will Come (Nightmare)"
"God is Alone"
"Turn Loose the Swans"
"She is the Dark"
"A Sea to Suffer In"
"Catherine Blake"
"A Map of All Our Failures"
"My Hope the Destroyer"
"Within a Sleeping Forest"

"Bands health" ?
This sounds bad. I hope everything is "okay" but that statement makes me worried.
Best of luck to My Dying Bride

Statement from Aaron Stainthorpe.

I would like to quash some recent rumours regarding the demise of My Dying Bride in the light of our previous statements. We most certainly are NOT splitting up and in fact are vigorously composing the next album right now. The reason we have had to cancel a run of shows is due to a severe and fearful illness that has struck a member of my immediate family for which I have now dedicated all my time until signs of improvement. The other five members of the band however are working hard to produce the next opus which will be our debut for new label partners Nuclear Blast and will be released in 2018. I will do my part when the time comes and I can assure fans that it is going to be suitably epic.
Apologies to all who were looking forward to seeing us perform live but rest assured, we will be back!
Cheers
Aaron Stainthorpe

Stay strong Aaron.
Family comes first and we are okay with you taking all the time you need.
I wish a quick recovery and good health to your family.
I hope it gets better soon.

One needs to make priorities in life and he's doing the right thing! I hope everything will turn out well and to see them on tour one day.
