Best gig ever?

Discuss other bands, doom metal or otherwise, here.

What's the best gig, or say, top 5 concerts you've seen?

Partly made this topic to rub in to Matt that I've seen Emperor two times more than he has :P

1. Emperor at London Astoria ...2006 (?)
2. MDB at O2 Academy 2011 (on an honourary par with the 2012 London gig. I'm going to discount the Paradise Lost/Anathema big 3 gig in Kentish Town, as I was suffering narclopetic symptoms at the time and managed to fall asleep halfway through Paradise Lost, which was a bit of a downer..)
3. Emperor at Wacken 2006 (?)
4. Gorgoroth, 1349 at Camden Underworld 2005
5. Destroyer 666, Inquisition, Adorior, NecroRitual at Camden Underworld 2007
...

okay and can't help but add another...

6. Taake at Eleckrowerkz London 2007 (? ish?)

Well, I haven't been to gigs much! But IRON MAIDEN gigs in Dubai back in 2009 and 2007 were something that can never be forgotten

1. A tie between the MDB gig in London earlier in December, and Anathema here in Tampere back in... September I think.
2. Heaven & Hell at Sauna Open Air festival in... 2007 I think
3. Dio at Sauna Open Air festival in 2005
4. Ihsahn at Electric Ballroom, Camden, London in 2010
5. Any single one of the four Dark Tranquillity gigs I've been to so far, they're quite consistently entertaining

1. Opera North - Wagner: Das Rheingold (TUNES! :D)
2. Cannibal Corpse, Trypticon, Job For A Cowboy - Birmingham March 2012, mosh pit was crazy and non-stop the whole way through! (apart from JFAC lol!) 1PM finish, was so dehydrated and had to walk 5 miles after as well, thought I was gonna die haha
3. MDB - Wolverhampton Albion In Ruin, amazing.
4. 'Sun Smasher' doom all dayer. Conan, Black Magician, Wizards Beard etc. Scruffy Murphys @ B'ham... HEAVY! (http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid= ... nt_count=1)
5. Dimmu Borgir - Birmingham 2011, O2 Academy, Enthrone Darkness played in its entirety was bliss.

I've left out Supersonic fest 2011 and 2012 as it's not really a gig imo.

Constant doom (musically and physically hahaha), sheer volume, being so close to the band and being able to get a beer without ending up being stuck somewhere at the back where you can't see, pub gigs are great! :D

Oh and because of Black Magician too ofc :P

Seems you enjoyed it more than I did, haha :-P We had much better gigs, in my opinion.

Yes, true. We were quite late turning up, and then we had to find food, take care of our gear, etc. You don't actually get a lot of time to stand around watching other bands usually!

Guess that must suck sometimes, and the tiredness, I think I'd still rather be in a band though :D
