I've started getting this too since I upgraded Explorer to version 8. Running on Vista Ultimate 64. Haven't tried Compatibility View yet though.

EDIT: After a not so extensive research (just random clicking around on the forum for a couple of minutes), Compatibility View seems to help.
For those of you running Explorer 8, click that little symbol that looks like a torn sheet of paper next to the adress field.

Another small matter...maybe it's just me, but the 'New posts' symbol keeps coming up next to the Metal and Other Music forum on the Index page, even when there aren't any new posts! Anyone else having this problem?

Yes, I've had that happen a couple of times too...

I'm going to give this a guess (it's only a guess since I don't know how the coding works on this forum): Since few months back we introduced approval of first posters on this forum (to get rid of a lot of spam), which basically means that as a new member you have to get your first post approved by one of the moderators or by the admin. This first post is not visible to anyone but the forum crew... until it's been approved. And the new member can't post any additional posts until the first one is cleared.
Now, my guess would be that when you are on the index page and you see a notification that there's a new post in one of the sub forums, it is one of these new posts... only we haven't had the time to approve it yet and thus you can't find any new posts when you enter the sub forum.

J1, please correct me if I'm wrong.

Cheers!

EDIT: Right now for example, there's a bunch of posts in Metal and Other Music that are from new members and looks like spam, but since I'm at work atm I don't have the time to sort them trough. Will do when I get home though (unless the others beat me to it), and then the notification for new posts should disappear.

A very small matter...

When you click on a link in some forums it opens in a new tab in the browser. Methinks this is handier, especially if you want to keep reading the posts...

I know "right-click > open in new tab" is a simple work-around, but y'know...

Yeah, that's what I do, usually. I like it the way it is...at least this way I have the option.

If you have a scrollwheel that also works as an extra button on your mouse you should be able to open a new tab just by clicking that button once. That's an even easier work-around. ;)
